Children Need Both Parents

The Community Forum to Voice and Address Issues Affecting the Family

TOPIC: The connection between you and your severely alienated children.

Is there still a connection?
Are you able to email, text, call or have parenting time?
Do you have angry sessions when you talk with your children?
Do you sometimes see the little signs that are a connection to you?
Is the cup half full or half empty?

Is it really too late to have a relationship with your children even if many years have gone by? What have you done to keep a positive relationship and what have you done to give ammunition to breaking it?

We are not perfect. Nobody is. We all make mistakes. But is it too late to be the one who is in control of the message you are giving to your children?

Tonight, I will speak of the high’s and low’s of severely alienated children. I will be speaking from my own experience with my eldest son and his graduation last night. I think you will be shocked as I was!

I believe there is always a chance at some type of positive relationship between you and your children. It will never be the same or the way we remember it to be.

Its time for parents to realize that it all has to be a fresh start. Clean slate, and put the 3 “L’s” in place…..

LISTEN, Hear what your children are saying. They are trying to tell you something.

LOVE, Show unconditional love. NEVER give ultimatums. AWAYS be ready with open minds and hearts.

LEARN, to respect your children as a being with feelings. The very being you brought into this world deserves the same respect you demand.
