A drug taken to treat ADHD is being linked to sudden death in some children.
In a study released in the American Journal of Psychiatry, doctors sought to determine if there was a link between sudden, unexplained death in children, and the use of stimulants found in ADHD medications such as Ritalin and Concerta.
AND THIS one looks like the best

Maybe now parents will stop drugging their kids and actually, you know, parent.
The rare child does have ADHD and they require medicine. But this phenomenon of millions of kids using these meds was thrust upon us by the drug companies in concert with doctors. We're senselessly drugging kids. Most of these parents should be ashamed.
sorry i been so busy i did some research and have came up with nothing will do more research when i get time.

I'd love to be able to read the study... Sudden death in Children can be linked to many biological abnormality's as well as cardiac death, i.e. heart fibrosis, enlarged heart...
Having the child's heart checked is a must!! Can you link us to the most recent scholarly study? ADHD children might be taught "Focus skills" first rather than being drugged.
ADHD meds linked to sudden death in kids
(ABC News) UPDATED 2009-06-15
A spokesperson for Novartis, the company that manufactures the ADHD drug Ritalin, said that a review of the company's safety data "failed to detect an increased risk in sudden cardiac death associated with [Ritalin] use." McNeil Pediatrics, the company that manufactures the ADHD drug Concerta, had no comment when contacted by ABC News
As for Hohmann, she said that she has started telling her friends to make sure that they do not put their children on stimulant ADHD medications. She added that she would advise any parents who had children who were taking an ADHD medication to have their children's hearts checked on a regular basis, both prior to beginning treatment with the drug and while they are taking it.
"When you lose a child, it's the most devastating thing you could ever, ever go through," she said. "Something needs to be done."
