Debate fodder: Custody 'syndrome' brainwashes child against parent

Good article on the alienation and the conference in Canada. http://www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=1436867 Toronto -- The scope of the courts' reach into family affairs has long been contentious, but a recent trend in Canada's legal system has brought a new controversy that has some onlookers praising judges and others condemning them for accepting what they call "voodoo science." Not Good News about PAS in CA

Assemblyman Jim Beall, D-San Jose, has introduced a bill that would ban the use of “non-scientific theories” in court cases. This bill would prevent the use of a theory called “parental alienation syndrome,” or PAS. This is the idea that one parent seeks to alienate a child against the other parent, leading them to level untrue accusations of abuse or neglect. http://www.capitolweekly.net/article.php?_c=xrgr4skgsb1z4n&issueId=xrgncrs6ymxqs4&xid=xrgqgaw7i5lx37 Continue

Canadian Judge Gives Children to Alienated Father

Brings joy to my heart and hope for the future! http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20090124.wcustody24/BNStory/National/?page=rss&id=RTGAM.20090124.wcustody24 An Ontario judge has ordered that three girls be seized and sent to a parental alienation centre for deprogramming after their mother waged an unrelenting campaign to alienate them from their father. Mental Manipulation of Child Victims of Prental Kidnap and Alienation

A child’s mind is malleable. Whether convincing the child that Santa’s visit is just around the corner or that the child’s dangerous parent is behind every corner, the child believes, especially when the one molding the child’s mind is an abusive parent. In the case of parental abduction the child receives only the input and coaching of the taking parent. Dr. Amy Baker reports in her book Adult Children of Parental Alienation Syndrome “…contact with the targeted parent was minimized or elimina… Continue

Sometimes the Losses Never Stop

Many of you may know my story of parental abduction (a tactic of parental alienation). Kidnapped at two years old by my father, I finally reunited with my mother thirty-one years later. Since my mother was out of my life all my father had to do was badmouth her and he had total control over me. Telling me she was demonized, no less than a whore, and wanted nothing to do with me. At fifteen years old, after my request to call my mother, he told me a story that would change fifteen years later. H… Continue

The Innocence... The victims... The tragedy...

PA is simply brainwashing/mind conditioning. It’s especially difficult when one parent is aggressive and the other passive. Of course the alienator is the aggressive (strong) one and young children, needing to feel safe, will follow the strong parent; the parent they feel is the safer, stronger parent. Along the same lines, the child will not want to reap the abuse he/she sees the alienated parent receiving. Our children are vulnerable and innocent. Most of us realize the alienation as we grow… Continue

Children Need Both Parents

We all breathed a sigh of relief when 7-year-old Reigh Boss was returned to her mother. Yet, we cannot help but imagine the fear and confusion Reign must have felt after her father, Clark Rockefeller, snatched her during a court-supervised custody visit last month in Boston. In 2006 over 350,000 children were abducted by a parent. The public often sees these abductions as acts by loving, although misguided, parents. Like Reigh, I was abducted. My father kidnapped me in 1966 when I was two-year… Continue
