Another thriving effort to do something good for somebody has emerged and is now available to Parents in need of furniture. One Out Of Many, a non-profit organization that supports single parent households through advocacy for the enforcement of parental rights and family preservation has created The Furniture Exchange, a new resource that relieves the pressure of furnishing ones home on a limited budget.

Most families we support are struggling with a rapidly decreasing economy yet the needs of families remain ongoing. We have found that during the DFCS process of evaluating the safety of a Parent’s home many are struggling to purchase furniture. Without the proper settings of basic needs like bedroom furniture and accessories for the children and the parents, a decision of keeping or gaining custody of the children can be stopped. Family preservation is the key and acquiring furniture should not be a hindrance and this new resource will close the gaps in furnishing requirements.
