I keep my mind busy and try not to think of negative thoughts... I say one day... and my one day came. It's not easy but I know you can do it, we all can do it. Also NEVER loose your sense of humor.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get back into the social scene? How do you keep yourself motivated and inspired to go on each day? I know this sounds depressing, but the 'lows' can sometimes get really low....

Mentor programs are really great and will help him adjust. I'm sure in time it will work it's self out. Problems such as yours usually do. But you too, must work at being happy for your behavior will be emulated by your child.

Family support at times is a bit stifling, depending on the family environment. I actually should look around South Africa for an orgarnisation like you mentioned 'Big Brother', so he doesn't feel isolated from a male figure. Thanks.

It is easier said than done that's for sure and divorce is never easy on a child. I've been through similar and I'm a single parent as well and in my situation I know I'd never have been able to do it if I didn't have family to support and help me...

Thanks for the encouraging words...but...it's definitely easier said than done. I do what I can as mother and father but sometimes it's too much to deal with. I take him on outings to ensure that he has memories so that 10 years from now when he l...

I've heard S. Africa has really changed over the last few years. I've met many beautiful people from that region.

I wish I could get away and travel to Africa, I'm into archeology, anthropology and geology and would love to see all of Africa someday. Maybe you could be my tour guide, what do you say?

Welcome to CNBP forum. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with all the features. There is a discussion board that you may search by topic, a blog where you may post information you would like others to see and a members directory. THANK YOU for taking the time to add your city and state to your profile. Although the issues we face are universal many of the changes will take place locally and that is when we need to be able to contact each other instead of the entire group. If you need any assistance please feel free to contact me. Again, welcome and I hope you find CNBP to be a valuable resource.
