PJ's statements are true. It should not be publicized that this is allowed, but it is true. Courts still make you swear an oath, but it is no longer on a Bible, and means nothing. Attorneys lie, and even thougth you point it out to the judge at th...
I was wondering why my posting from a week or so ago about Gov Daniels signing the IN proclaimation recognizing parental alienation awareness day is no longer posted here.
Mary-Thank you for your feedback. There are many things that need overhauled in the judicial system. One we are working on is that children must be protected by at least minimal due process protections before they can be denied access to a parent accused of domestic violence. At a minimum some third party must screen a complaint before it is rubber stamped by a judge. It's amazing how domestic violence increases upon the filing for divorce or hiring of a new attorney when there has never been a single police report.
The other is that judges should be required to presume that children are entitled to maintain their relationship with both parents. Indiana is FAR from giving custody to both parents. A bill for presumed joint legal custody has been introduced in the Indiana House for the fourth year. Hopefully this year we will finally get a law passed to tell a judge that they are required to uphold the oath they took and not deny a child access to the input of a parent parent regarding health, education and religious decisions without that parent being declared unfit.
Cheers-Stu
Welcome to CNBP forum. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with all the features. There is a discussion board that you may search by topic, a blog where you may post information you would like others to see and a members directory. THANK YOU for taking the time to add your city and state to your profile. Although the issues we face are universal many of the changes will take place locally and that is when we need to be able to contact each other instead of the entire group. If you need any assistance please feel free to contact me. Again, welcome and I hope you find CNBP to be a valuable resource.
