How we deal with the Holidays. I'm supposed to be happy and peaceful and content. I have my moments but aside from my usual disgust at the pain people go through because they can't afford or find the perfect gift, I am fighting every day to not let the actions of a very sick individual wreck my Holiday.

It was a very slow process. First he/she met someone who never had any self-esteem to begin with, then took the remnants of his/her first failed marriage and used it all to gain his/her love and trust. Little by little, he/she took everything that he/she promised, everything that he/she said and knocked every bit of security and trust down piece by piece until he/she was a shell of what he/she used to be.

This is what a lot of us are reduced to. I drove 3 hours to watch my son's team play (probably would have anyway, but...). I get one and a half minutes of video and a few pictures. Yes, I saw my child! That in itself is a lot more than some.

Don't be shy...I'm learning not to be. The only time I have ever spoken up or put myself out there is when it is a problem with one of my children. This is a biggie!!! I went to DCFest on Friday, 8/15 and listened to a lot of speakers and talked to a lot of people. It definitely gave me some strength back. Some of these people managed to come from pretty far away. They are all fighters. Their were a lot of people who had been screwed by the courts, by the state, and by other family members.
