I am a mother of five who is in a court custody case over my five and a half year old daughter Ciara. I was just appointed a GAL in my case and need any advice or recommendations on how to make this a postive experience for my daughter's proper representation. I am only looking to maintain my rights to see Ciara and make desicions in her life. The costs of these legal proceedings have left me desolate. I now have to come up with $1,500.00 retainer fee plus $250.00 per hour. When I lost my home in June I gave Ciara to her father who quickly turned around and sued me for sole custody. I am not unaware of the dangers of sole custody please comment and aid me in my cause for my right to be involved in my child's life. Sincerely Kelly Barr

The Guardianship Racket is the biggest SCAM on American Families today and it's destined to grow unless we join together and fight for reforms in Probate/ Juvenile/Family Courts.

Get the word out about the DC Rally July 18 through
26 where family's have had their loved ones: vulnerable citizens (children, elders, and the disabled) unjustly snatched by these courts for expoitation: MONEY.

I see you are in Indiana where my kids and case are, Dubois County, the blister from the pit of hell, lol. The Gal's there are so not qualified, i asked to strike them and be appointed a new one who would actually speak to me and my attorney refused to cooperate with this request. I would like to hire a criminal attorney and 'Go back in". Anyone recomend a criminal attorney for that area of Southern Indiana? Preferably someone Qualified and Trustworthy, lol, if I dare ask for such a thing? I have a few in mind and looking for more info :)

The GAL-In my case has no early childhood education "I am a Mother, Common Sence" Michelle Fentress, when asked by me of her reasoning as to why she belived it to be in the best interest of the children Jacob and Gracie- be turned over to the biological father and myself slapped with supervised visitation, while the father was still under investigation for child abuse. She never visited our home and never interviewed us with the children. Violation of Custody Elaluation. While having dinner at Red Lobster with the ex at Red Lobster and visiting his home. Biased! Also the ex's 2nd Attorney's Partner.

I have had 2 court appointed GAL's and neither one bothered to even speak to me, even though I called them numerous times. They ruled for my ex, citing that it's what the kids wanted, lol.

totally usless people, actually they are supposed to be attorneys employed by the public defenders office, to represent each child in a family court case, be the case for cps or just 2 parents who cant agree.

Useless: they are supposed to inspect potential homes (foster homes, moms/dads/grandparents) and write a report on which home is best suited for children; I've known 1 who had measured a room destined to be a child's bedroom; she flunked the parent, claiming that the room was too small; the child is still with this parent, even thou the room is as small as a walk in closet (6 ft by 3 ft!).
conflict of interest, if you ask me; children should be represented by local law school college students within their community law projects, ie: Rutgers Law School (Newark, NJ) Community Law Project, represents children and for constitutional rights; any parent or grandparent can apply for legal assistance on behalf of the children!!

I am getting involved because of what I saw in my brothers case in Columbus, Ohio. The GAL for his son Richard Morris sided with the mother because "the parents could not agree." He never even saw my brother and his son together. It is all about the money.
